PiStorm - RGB to HDMI Passthrough

Hi Michal....

I know such a lot of conversation goes on over @ Discord RE PiStorm & it's development with EMU68, but in an effort to bring it to the mainstream user forum database, how is the hardware development looking for this amazing conception?

IE, is there an anticipated release date yet please?

Thanks in advance.

I do know that A600 test boards are gonna be produced in the next few days, but I should stress that they're for testers only. No time scale on the 500/1200 et al yet though.

Roffle

Hell, I'm not even a tester (I don't have a 600 anyways) I'm just friends with the guy who's making them.

Patience. It's hard but we just have to wait.

What is this exactly? You get the RGB picture through pastors HDMI without the need of RTG?

It is scandoubled, deinterlaced, native pass through. Just like Amiga gfx cards Picasso IV etc. Means you don't have to switch inputs on your monitor between RTG and native it's automatic and only one cable.

I'm still fighting with me whether or not I need/want that. Currently, one very cool thing is that the native screen modes over RGB do not clear the RTG screen, so you can open e.g. a hint file or solution on the Workbench and then start a WHDLoad game. While you play the game over RGB, you can look at the (frozen) Workbench screen and read whatever you opened there.

In any case, I hope that feature will be switchable by a tooltype, so that even with the hardware installed, the old behaviour could still be used.
