Is there only one secret drone in shmup section? Or there are three, but I miss two?

From the official info:

Quote:
Each level (excluding the spaceship sections) contain three hidden drones. They become visible when shot, but also let off a sound when they are on screen as a hint. Follow the drones to find secret items. Collect all 24 secret items and complete the game to unlock a special gameplay option.

Thanks for this great release. I was able to play some of it tonight.
The new graphics (new to me, anyway) and secrets make it a really fun new challenge.

Thanks for making the conversion so well.
Played little on a stock machine with just PCMCIA SRAM, which was obviously causing lots of slowdowns. Next time I install some accelerator.
I noticed the autofire is on by default. Could it be made optional?

PAL version on 1.1.1 latest firmware at 50hz.

I have had reports from other people who had problems with the A500 Mini version. Given that the process for adding games is rather poor, I put it down to configuration problems.
Just to check myself, I did a fresh USB drive with THEA500 folder on it and put the game on it. It did run, but it took a long time to start (2 minutes ish). Subsequent runs started much quicker. It seems A500 Mini does some kind of cacheing.

Perhaps you could try waiting for longer to see if that fixes it?
If not, I'd be very interested in tracking down the cause. Do you think you could zip up your USB drive and send me the contents so I can see if I can get it to happen on mine?

@Thread

Ok, read the guidance online and you have to update the WHDLoad Database file.

Where's it stored on your USB?
THEA500/whdboot/game-data/whdload_db

Add the contents of the xml file included in the game download THEA500 Mini Pal package after first </game> comment and save. Use Windows and WordPad and not MacOS as the Mac hides the folders that you need.

I think the next PC DOS port by Muzza should be the missing levels from The Lion King. In contrast to the PC and console versions, the Amiga version of The Lion King only came with 7 levels and the best level, the "Can't wait to be king" level with the ostrich run, was actually missing (even though it was pictured on the box's back). I think it's time to undo this injustice and finally give Amiga users the full Lion King treatment!

Lionking is C coded if i remember well. It would require to hack the Megadrive version...... Good luck :/

The engine seems pretty solid indeed. I hope it will be used for other 2D games but anyway this one is already a great xmas gift. Have a good rest Muzza !

Henk Nieborg have done recently pixel art for a Megadrive game. Who knows, maybe he would be interested to make some for a new AGA game ? A sequel to Lionheart for A1200/CD32/modern platforms would probably be easily founded on a kickstarter.

Why is it a problem that Lionking is C coded?

It's much more complicated to hack a C coded game. It's "easier" when coded in ASM.
