Which Amiga pack did you get?
In the UK the Amiga was launched with what was called a pack, free games etc. The most famous being the Batman Pack.
I was late entering the Amiga scene and I had a "Flights of Fantasy" pack. What did you have? Also did you buy your Amiga from Silica and get the "Ten Star Pack"? Last edited by alexh; 12 January 2006 at 12:29. |

how ironic... I got an amiga just 1 year ago, I was a die-hard pc user back then... never considered the amiga as an option... not that I regret the past, I had very good times with pc gaming, etc
but look now! I have a fully loaded ppc 1200! ...talk about bad timing, lol I bet I would have more fun with it in the past... |

Best games? I dunno... didnt Batman kinda suck? I never played Interceptor, and I agree The Newzealand Story was great.
Flight of Fantasy:
I did love the Jonathan Dunn intro tune to Batman though. Last edited by alexh; 12 January 2006 at 14:22. |

Rainbow Islands is better than NZS yeah but Interceptor is better than F29 with its dodgy collision detection and Batman the Movie is a fine game and I think better than EFTPOTRM. Also, until Lotus arrived it had the best driving game (level 2) on the Amiga imo. |

Stefarno, dont feel too miffed. The Conner CP2024 20Mbyte 2.5" drive cost almost as much as the Amiga back in 1992. I would have preferred an A600 with hard drive over an A1200 without anyday!

I had the A500 Screen Gems and later, A1200 Comic Relief.
Fond memories of Nightbreed, Back to the Future 2, Days of Thunder, and... Shadow of the Beast 2? Wait a minute... what was that doing in there? |

I just had a plain A500+.. No special pack.. got it direct from a commodore warehouse if I remember right... I was very young then...
The 1st one I got didn't have working joystick ports >< so I sent it back and they replaced it ^_^ Cost £200 in total (But that's with a load of games and stuff I ordered from a company called "special reserve") |

Guess this poll is UK only, since it misses the A1200 "Magic" pack which was available in Germany during the second half of the 1990s. It included Wordworth, Whizz, Pinball, ...
My first A600, as well as my first A1200, I bought "plain" without a package. I bought, however, an A1200 "Magic" later, plus a "Magic" software package without hardware before I bought the whole "Magic" bundle. |

My 500 was a Flight of Fantasy pack. The only item I have from that original pack is the game EFTPOTRM. I sold that particular 500 (but got another one ten years later).
My A4000T came with the magic pack. Got that here in the UK in 1996. |

In NZ most people bought the "A500 Starter Kit" which consisted of an A500 (with 512k expansion memory), Crazy Cars, Super Ski, a naff golf game (Hole-In-One I think), and some junk like Kind Words 2. If you add it to the list some down under people will vote for it!

and in Australia most people also bought the "A500 starter kit" which consisted of an unexpanded A500, Kindwords 2; Fusion Paint; F/A-18 Interceptor; Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (Arcade). There was also an A500 Deluxe kit sold at the same time which had more serious software (and cost quite a bit more). Later on we got some of the packs sold in the UK (my 1200 came was basically the Desktop Dynamite pack but was not called anything special).

my A500 Cartoon Classics pack was an A500+, not a normal A500, as were a few friends packs too.
i've not actually heard of a 'standard A500' cartoon classics pack, do they exist, or is it just a typo in the list of options at the top? if there is, i guess they changed half way through the CC production run or something....since the box doesnt actually mention a plus anywhere at all.... |

Some early Cartoon Classics were reported to be A500's, but most were 500+
