Drawing tablet on Amiga

Hello.
I have an Aiptek HyperPen 6000U-tablet (USB version) and I was wondering if it would be possible to connect it to my Amiga 1200. I read that someone had hooked up his HyperPen to an Amiga but it was a serial version.
What kind of modifications I need to make to the tablet? I know that it needs the 5v power. For example: Convert the usb to serial and get that 5v from an external psu.

Thank you for the answers.

The only tablet I've gotten to work with the Amiga is a Kurta IS/ONE.

If you get the USB Aiptek to work let me know - I have one of those too! (BTW - it won't work through a Rhys MKII, I've tried)

No, you would have to have some kind of USB driver first. I have Wacom tablet connected to my Amiga through Formaldyhid driver and it works, but not USB.

It recognizes the tablet but it still doesn't work. Does it need some kind of a protocol converter too?

Nice error message! You could probably make a protocol converter with an Arduino (one that supports USB host) if you had the skills.
