Amiga Explorer 7

Cloanto released a new version of Amiga Explorer, the Amiga-PC networking software that first saw the light in 1997.

Features include:

- Support for additional types of serial devices and ports, including COM port numbers higher than 9
- Recognition of hardware where the speed cannot be set or changed (e.g. Bluetooth dongles)
- Enhanced support for high-DPI display modes
- Offline option in the Amiga Explorer icon context menu (prevents undesired connection attempts)
- The Amiga Explorer icon is now also included in the "Network location" group of "This PC" namespace
- Improved stability and handling of connection errors
- Minor bug fixes
- Unified 32-bit and 64-bit installer

Upgrades are free to all Amiga Explorer and Amiga Forever Plus Edition customers. Amiga Explorer is also free to try under a shareware license.

The Amiga Explorer source code is currently available in a closed group on GitHub. The plan is to extend the open source availability once an improved version of the data exchange protocol reaches stable status.

Wow, thanks for this. I downloaded and installed, input my license key. it connected straight away to my Amiga even though the Amiga had the older version. I was able to copy this new version over to my Amiga using AExplorer and on the Amiga I configured the icon the way I had the older version.

Works really well. Connects straight away and copies pretty fast. I think anyone who had issues with the older versions should update ASAP. I'll just mention I am using TCP over Vampire SDNET ExpPort.
