A600: nothing doing :-(
I thought I'd check my A600 was still working okay but was disappointed. The caps light comes on, and stays on, but nothing else happens. No disk clicks, no signal to TV, nowt.
I'm using a psu that happily powers my expanded 1200. Any things you can suggest I try? Thanks. |

It’s being held in reset by a bad 555 timer (U14)?
It has either gone bad (common) or one of the surrounding resistors connected to the threshold pin (6) are out of spec. |

Yes, check the 555 timer circuit and associated components.
Usual suspect is the C612 cap - if it is faulty and the cause of the issue you can remove it and it should boot up. See for example: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=73265 |
