Hi,

Is there any utility that changes/set the screen mode via CLI?

what about this:

BTW, this way does not work, as the shell complaints the file is not executable

After extracting and installing it (both libraries in LIBS, the WBStarter in C, nothing else needed, you can issue a command such as:

wbstarter SYS:Prefs/Presets/whatever

assuming that you have a screenmode project icon in presets called whatever, and it will execute it as if it was in the WBStartup drawer at boot-time. You will need your CLI to be on a different screen than Workbench, else Intuition will complain. It definitely works, I've just done it using KingCON jumped onto DirectoryOpus's screen - the Workbench screen toggled between PAL and PAL-Laced when I called the appropriate preset.
