Thank you for that information. I will do that and see if I can get anything out of it.

I get nothing from a keyboard. This is most frustrating.
My testing of the PIC programmed to blink a LED has shown it is very easy to get these running with any crystal. Even without any caps, it will start to oscillate (though caps are good to keep it stable on clock). |

The only thing I can think of is that there must be something wrong with your wiring.

I have checked my wiring over and over and over again. But I will take a break and check it all over again tomorrow, when my brain is fresh. It is to easy to get stuck on a problem when you are at it for to long.

You said a few posts ago that with a mouse you were getting activity on the data line and not on the clock line - is that still the case with the keyboard?
Check clock and data with a multimeter - are they both high while the device is idle. At the risk of asking the ridiculously obvious, are you 100% certain that the right pin on the PS/2 socket is wired to the right pin on the PIC? (On the page you linked to in your first post, the pin numbering is for the mating side of the PS/2 socket, not the solder side.) |

I'll try to get the schematic up for you later, do you want PS2 or USB ?

Hmm. I would love to have both if possible. I have two pics, so I can build two adapters.
One for PS2 and one for USB. |
