For PC try Steem with auto on-line update and good compatibility. Atari ST have good Starball (pinball) and Oids (cave flyer).

Steem is the best PC emulator. There are some arcade ports, which weren't released for the miggy, i.e. Slapfight, Metrocross or Solomon's Key.
http://steem.atari.st/ A nice Gamebase ST setup: http://gbst.atomas.com/gamebase%20im...t%20README.php But don't cry if you play scrolling ST games. Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 16 October 2007 at 22:52. |

I remember having an Atari ST emulator for Amiga.
It ran on my 1mb A500, not that good though. Only thing I ever tried with it was Calamus DTP software. |

Am I right in thinking that the ST emulators for the Amiga didn't let you run programs that hit the hardware directly (i.e. almost all games)?

that's why A-Max/Shapeshifter/Fusion emulators work so well on mac apps because they don't hardware bang. Using properly the MMU, it is theorically possible to emulate the atari hardware on an amiga. But I don't think it has already been done. |

I remember years ago a claim by some Atari mag, that there was a Amiga emulator for the ST, I say claim, because I never found a shred of evidence, I also don't think its possible (100% A500 a-like), unless you could somehow emulate the custom chips fully putting the ST CPU under a HUGE load, maybe you could get away with Workbench... but games :/

There was space game called Sundog that is supposed to be pretty cool, and there's a recently released ST pre-production version of the fairly legendary EPT by Realtime. Those would be my first ports of call - no pun intended. :-) |

I had a list of around twenty good games which were released only for ST, I remember game called Granddad or something like that (by Grandsoft), funny adventure, it has a sequel. I think it's good ideat to try classic Amiga titles, compare it.

It was meant to be like Elite - indeed, I think EPT stood for Elite Piss Take (or was rumoured to, anyway)

I remember about a friend trying to run "Colonial Conquest", a ST-only game, using a ST emulator on amiga.
It displayed the title screen, then crashed I wonder what's the speed on a Amiga PPC based port of Steem or MESS, or SainT. On 68060 it sure crawls. |

You can find a load of games on PlanetEmu:
... Atari ST - Games - [ST] ... Atari ST - Games - [STX] Unfortunately though EPT doesn't seem to be there |

A real ST exclusive gem is Bolo by Meinolf Schneider of Oxyd/Dongleware fame: http://www.mobygames.com/game/bolo
Play in it monochrome (hi-res) mode for much better gfx. There is an abundant demoversion. The full version is harder to find. The full version might be on D-Bug #128 or on Automation #323B or on both. It is a bit hard to start it from these disks in monochrome hi-res, because the cracker intro and game selection screen gfx are corrupted in monochrome display. I got it working in Steem this way some years ago. |
