I am not impressed with 3DO either, most games have framerate issues... I am amazed that you like wolf3D_3do s2325!

Maybe NTSC and PAL versions have different framerate or something?

I have played Doom on an NTSC Goldstar 3do and a Pal Panasonic FZ-1.... It was the same on both and is almost unplayable unless you shrink the screen/window... the slowdown was terrible. I found it worse than the Sega 32X version!

The Goldstar is the pickiest of all 3DO console for backups. If Imgburn fails you could try to mount the CD Image (or cue file if you have an Bin/Cue rip) with Alcohol/Daemon Tools and then use the "Copy" option in Alcohol to burn it. And yes, slow burning speed is important or some old consoles.

I used Discjuggler and Alcohol 120% with no probs... i can't quite remember what brand CD-R's i used though (i think Philips and Maxell) Make sure you don't use CD-RW discs as they will not work with any 3DO console.

I just used "IMGBURN" to burn a 3DO game (Alone in the Dark) and it worked without a hitch. A lot better program IMO than many of the expensive commercial ones. I was also quite impressed with how smoothly the game ran on the 3DO! A lot easier to control than the PC version (at least when it comes to running).

I have several Panasonic FZ-10s and they like CD-Rs, I used only Nero for it.

The 3DO is a special console, it has a fair bit of power for an old console.

Don't forget to try Cannon Fodder for the video at the beginning.

It's ok if you don't own the dreadful PAL version (horribly slow with huge black borders!). The games library is a bit slim and 80% of them were a bit crap to be honest But as with most failed consoles there are a few gems to be played

gotta say, i purchased my fz-1 basically cause rj mical, dave needle and a few others had a hand in its design, and i talked the store owner down to $600 when i purchased it, but i still love it and the fact it plays cdrs out of the box is a bonus. still one of the faves in my classic collection, right behind my original owner vectrex.
