A few people said that writing IPF's back to disk was impossible without SERIOUSLY custom hardware, which a guy called Richard Aplin caught wind of, who, as it happens was a programmer back in the Days of Amiga, who also was involved with the original duplication (trace machines). Well to keep this short and simple, he is using a cheap ($75) ARM Controller development board, hooking up a cheap (Commonly thrown in the rubbish these days) PC floppy drive, and has written custom firmware/software is now able to write IPF images back to disk (See Youtube link above), All open Source. (He was also in some way involved with Xcopy, and he was also the Author of the Cyclone on the Amiga). |

Hi PZ,
have a look here : http://www.softpres.org/ This is where the IPF format comes from Since you have an A1200, you can use their preservation software. So if you have some originals not on their list you should get in touch with them as soon as possible |

Hi Slayer,
we are not allowed to say where you can get them : http://eab.abime.net/faq.php?faq=eab_rules (scroll down to 'SPS (formerly CAPS) FAQ - DO'S & DONT'S') But as always : Google is your friend |

funny how I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on Amiga Hardware and Amiga Software over the last 20+ years and still spending thousands what with 3 versions of OS4.x to get and now a SAM. And a majority of people who possess these IPF collections spent bugger all... I demand justice LOL |

Hi Slayer,
As one way to justify your spending would be to contribute images of the missing games to the project. If you are willing to do that please check our games list and do let us know if you have something not found by the search at: http://www.softpres.org/games Thanks |

No, you haven't.
Afaik Dr Bong has never contributed anything, and wwarp images are useless for us. You'll need to dump your disks (if you have any that is not preserved already) using our software. |

What's the max configuration for your software? I heard it will run on an 030 A1200 but nothing higher?
and I am shocked at Dr Bong... I thought that Australian was a helpful (get involved chap) pleasant person ;-) |
