Well, despite being fans of retro, there is nothing better than getting a great AAA title to play from time to time.
However, seems like Valve/Steam fell asleep and Epic sprints ahead, with a more reasonable profit margin for publishers. Factor that in and then scooping up nearly every major AAA release until 2020 as a store exclusive, where does this leave steam. Personally I hate Epic, in particular their predatory monetization of Fortnite (as a parent this is the scum of games but still) but that alone is no reason to dump all game future purchases. How about the spyware software that's embedded in their store, again most websites spy so this isn't major but still, my data is mined and sold by Epic. The store itself is bereft of life, its crap basically. Then they use social media to have digs at Steam at every given moment, no sour grapes there. Am not a Steam fanboy by any stretch, am well used to using it for many years, along with utter garbage launchers such as Origin and UBI. Am happy to wait it out and grab steam keys at a later date though. Gives me time to catch up on all I bought in the past 2 or 3 years! My question is, will anyone care? Do you use whatever platform that is required to play games. I suspect the silent majority will use the Epic store to buy the latest software, the vocal minority will barely dent sales I would assume .. or will they? |

Yeah, Epic Store didn't sprint ahead, it's already lightyears away...
![]() ![]() Personally, I especially like how you can't buy a game at a reasonable price from my favorite 3rd party seller cause Epic has total dictatorship monopoly of some titles. |

Well I care, but I'm a special case, my Steam Library is too large to start over again
![]() Of course there is my old saying as well: If it's not on STEAM, it's NOT really a game ![]() |

Even though I hate it I can't blame Epic, they're only offering a tasty, tasty choice. Nobody is forced to do a (timed) platform exclusive. It is still the devs/publishers behind such games as Satisfactory and The Outer Worlds that put the game on Steam and then suddenly take the bait and go Epic exclusive. That is the real dickery.
At least a subset of the deals are timed, wait a year and you can buy it on Steam as well... |

To be fair, Jmmijo is so old he probably thinks now he's set up steam rom manager, that his Amiga games are running through steam.

Im hearing Fallout 76 will be launching on Steam after striking a deal with Bethesda.
There is slight sarcasm here but I honestly quite liked it, to a point! |

Borderlands 3 is now a confirmed 6 months Epic store exclusive, courtesy of Hyperion corp... I mean, 2K interactive.
Well, guess I'll be waiting then. You've got to fight.... for your right..... to nooooooooot pay! |

Patience is a virtue, so many other games can be enjoyed during that time.
A win-win scenario for me. ![]() |

Yeah my todo list is still not shrinking. The only downside is that for those 6 months it is going to be impossible for me to not have the game spoiled for me at least in part.
