I connect to internet my A1200 once in a while using a pcmcia 56k modem

I not tested using such program but my speeds are around

5kb/s download

5kb/s upload

this is funny compared with my PC + fiber optic connection downloading some torrents reached up to 40mb/s ie downloading Halo infinite

System: PMAC 3.1 Sawtooth with onboard ethernet on a tp-link wr802n wifi dongle - MorphOS 3.18. - Amispeed 0.7 with default options.

Above speeds basically maximise my current internet provider plan, so I am happy with it.

Wow... Those are some interesting numbers.
Blazing (like really) fast downloads 563Mb/s????

And then a REALLY REALLY slow upload speed...

Quirky.

The results tend to be skewed by emulators and their interface with the host TCP stack, intermediate buffers used and so on.

Average download speed: 7054 kilobit/second

Average upload speed: 6894 kilobit/second

Above, I am using MiamiDX...
I saw your numbers and was thinking I expected your faster CPU to have faster transfers, but that is faster than I might have thought...
But I've heard the Roadshow is the fastest stack out there, so that's probably in play too...

I guess a valid point, I'm using MiamiDX too and it's slower than expected compared to a few others.

I guess the question is, can anyone be arsed to benchmark with both to test?

the download speed of any 56k modem is around 5 kb/ seg
but personally I know it because is what Ibrowse reports downloading from aminet, also downloading files from any ftp site the speed is the same

for my A1200 I also have a zolytrix 33.600 serial modem which I don't use anymore and the speed is around 3.5 kb/s

there is not much mystery about this
