Yeah both are available for PSP and GP2x, and probably for the Pandora too. (Haven't kept up with developments, I should.)
The usual problem for all emus is, "will it run all games"? GP2x definitely has a problem there, and so do most if not all emus on consoles. The problem is usually getting past the loader and/or cracktro. Some Wikis for the respective handhelds have lists of games that work, but will usually not tell you which disk image that worked And so you may have a hell of a time even starting a single game that YOU want to play RIGHT NOW. So to speak On handhelds with a slow cpu there is also a performance problem, but this can sometimes be overcome by frameskip. But this reduces the enjoyment factor ofc If I were you I'd get a pocket-sized PC with Windows and WinUAE. I'd get back the money instantly from saving lots of hours of aggravation. An emu that can run Workbench with WHDload could suffice, but then you'd need to emulate 68020+ and then you're back at a pocket sized PC again. (If someone has gone through hellfire and fixed a list of exact disk images that do work for a specific handheld emu, they could share advice here. I just know I've always had the problem of trying 5-6 different cracks of a certain game and none working, and not only on GP2x, either.) Last edited by Photon; 16 March 2009 at 22:42. |

And do you know why this is, Photon?
These are all based on UAE which is pretty compatible (albeit slow) |

Well I defenetly have to decide soon. Once Taxes arrive I will be either getting a PSP 2000 w/FF7-2 and Modding it so I can play Amiga Games while waiting for the woman to get her shit done. Or I'm gonna get a Blizzard 1230. Probably going with the PSP as I can already emulate what I have to on the Amiga but will eventually have both.

I personally think people give PSPUAE a hardtime. Its a great emu WITH great speed. Just cause people cant be bothered tweaking the settings, they say it is slow and rubbish. If you do decide on a PSP, then give me a shout, Ill help you get it setup, you can even use the save states (named R.I.S.S.). Makes it quick and simple to run your favorite games at the best speed possible. |

I'd have to agree. I've just gotten a Samsung NC10 netbook and it runs WinUAE very nicely

I'd go for the Blizzard Claw22000 - no substitute for the real thing. |

Is it possible to play games like Total Chaos on any handheld device?
(Sorry to go OT but I read this thread and now I'm curious!) I don't think any portable Amiga emulator has HDD emulation and that would be necessary. I might be wrong though, maybe there is an emulator that can do that. Although, my desktop pc struggles with TC so I think I'm dreaming. Dreaming of handheld Total Chaos! One day it will happen. Maybe the Pandora? |

I would guess any system with a Duo Core, even Mini's. Theirs an Asus Mini with a Duo Core at Microcenter I saw for $600. It has a 256 Gforece 7950 too!! not bad for a Mini should play WinUAE stuff perfect.

well got the used PSP typing on it now. its the star wars one as i read there most likely hackable.
-=edit=- thought I would come back and edit this on the PC since there has been some issues. I has a password on it and I guess I will be returning to the store to see if I can find another one. I'm hopeing I can get some way of going to a different store to see if they have a better selection. I will be calling tomorrow to see. Can't wait till the pandora battery gets here and I have my Pocket A500 Last edited by Claw22000; 25 March 2009 at 10:23. |

Well time to -=BUMP=- this since I got my PSP modded today.
Any suggestions on good Amiga Games that are known to work with either one of these Emu's I really want the Turricon games. I don't know if I spelt that right. I've always worked with an A1200 so I don't know much about the A500 but since I do have Amiga Forever 2008 I sould be able to use the Kick Rom from there. I did the grabkick conversion to remove security like I was told back when I had issues with A1200 <--> A500 Compatibility. All help appreciated... Thanks |

Yup I know thats why I have converted it with the kickgrab. If you Emulate the system and use kick grab that fixes it. Had to do that to get it working on my A1200 So were good to go. Making an account on my voice server for you now. |

Fol Rulz!
There a whole tribe of them bowing to the Almighty Amigian FOL for his most awesome creation. I can now enjoy many games on my PSP while wait for the wife to do whatever it is they do in the store when your not looken. I got the most esteemed pleasure of getting to talk with him for about 2 hours to day. Love Teamspeak. Seems like hes going about his project with little to no help. Which means the feat of this software is even more amazing than before. I was thinking on trying to send some calls out on other forums to see if any programers (PSP wise) could maybe take some of the load off his hands. Sounds like he spends alot of time making other people happy. What a guy not only makes a kick ass emu but helped me set it up even though I didn't read all the way through the DOCS. Now thats not something every one gets!!! Thanks again FOL hope to chat with ya again on my server. |
