quiet ambient mods

following from this thread in OT, in which i was asking for pointers to nature sounds to make a 1 hour cd to use in a painting exibithion, for the same purpose, i would like to try with some game old mods.

i don't know if i'll end doing this or that way, but i would appreciate a lot some suggestion for a quiet surrounding tune, or maybe some not too quick or rhytmic percussion...

something like:

- the sound of the plains in Ishar 1 (is there something like that in Ishar 3? never got far in that... a savestate would be cool
- the introductions to levels in Agony;
- bart VS the World - China
- Shadow of the Beast 2 (a bit too angsty)

to give an idea... the pictures with which the sound should go are like these:

these are all excellent suggestions, (i'm even tempted to use actually the Dune tune) but i would like to try something with the least music possible... i could mix something over the Ishar thing... mmm...

You can find one of my module in the Zone. I have lost hundreds of my mods with hard drive crash long ago.

The best mods of this type were IMHO made by Radix aka Mosaik

http://www.mosaik.se

Emelie, Tournesol, linja Remix, locus fruit, rubik, all amazing tracks perfect for a quiet art presentation

Or a seducing girls on a romantic evening in. Radix, Air - Moon Safari and Vangelis' Voices, have helped me "set the mood" on more than one 3rd date

I totally agree with AlexH, Radix is a master musician in the scene, as it comes to chill out electronic tunes.

It somehow reminds me to 'De Schreeuw' (The Scream!)

Nice pics indeed!

i've assembled a couple of (not finished yet, the opening is the friday after the next) 15 minutes worth loops of the ambient audio from Ishar (the plains, wind, birds and frogs), Perihelion (map - wind; an occasional dreary sound) and Fate Gates of Dawn (forest and plains).

I've put also a short playlist of Amiga tunes: Dune, Utopia etc.
but i don't know if and how much i'll use it, as it is a bit too gloomy (try enter a room while the tune from the Meadow in Elvira plays...)

And finally a playlist with these mosaik tunes:
noalake, sunreal, rubik, among plants.

Given the silly bureaucracy, still i don't know if i'll be able to play them, though: communications between me and the Comune seems to be one sided...

One thing that puzzles me is this: if i would have passed a week in my lawn with a mic and a recorder and then made a completely original tape, and i'd not published it commercially, it would be exactly as unique as a painting hanged on the wall there.

Still, i would be required to pay the author rights, which is crazy, as i would then be the author and of course i would not receive any of them as i'm not registered to any author society.

Boh? Anyway, i will put the credits for what is played on the desk and links to the relevant sites.
