Just getting started

Hellllllppppp,
I've got my emulator,I've got my kickstart,I've got my workbench.How do i get the games??????????
I've downloaded them and unzipped them and extracted them and keep on getting annoying"not valid" or someting else messages!!How.how,how do you download a game and play them on the emulated amiga?????????????

Where did you download games ?? What format are the games after unzipping (ADF, ADZ, HDF etc.) ??? Which Emulator ???

It can be confusing if you're completely new to the Amiga - many of us are quite knowledgeable from growing up with these great machines and emulation usage came like second nature.

A lot of basic info can be found on the internet and I suggest you do some reading up first then post here about any specific problems you're having. There is just too much to cover when you’re being so vague.

Okay i've actually managed to "load" a game in the "amiga"but it comes up with "CHECKSUM ERROR 880"Its an adf file from bhlegends.What now????????Desperate to play North and South!!!!!!!!

I've upped a working version in the Zone (link at the top of the page). Download and play under an A500 config in WInUAE.

Thanks Bloodwych but now i can't transfer ADZ>ADF after using ADOF.No hair left to tear out,in two minds about giving up.

Erm, ADZ's work in WinUAE just fine, no need to convert. The new WinUAE can also use zipped ADFs.
