a list of configs for speeding up winuae load
hi toni,
is it possible for winuae to make a list of winuae configs, you know for starting winuae fastly ? because i have many winuae configs and it takes a long time to load now. And somethin like a refresh option or an automatic refresh when you save a new config ? a little request ps: i think winuae read each boot all the config directory and it's why it's so long with many configs, tell me if i'm wrong. |

WinUAE is not a game frontend.
Why not just move most config files outside of winuae's directory and run them with doubleclick? (if you want to "emulate" game frontend..) Config file names and labels can be cached but this isn't good enough reason |

Hi Turrican3,
I have also made alot of configs and faced the same slowdown. Like Toni said WinUAE is no game frontend, so I made my own . JAmiga is a simple frontend with screenshot and music capabilities. It's not based on any database, but on your configurations. You need the .Net Framework 2.0 which can be found here. If you have any questions leave me a message. P.S. : The screenshot is from my setup. Hope you like the game I choose P.P.S @mods : In which subforum can I make a thread about this frontend? Last edited by TCD; 26 April 2008 at 09:59. |

i know of a rough one:
go in your user CP (top left of the screen); click attachments in the new page (bottom left); click with the right mouse button on the file you want to reattach, click properties from the menu; copy the link to the file and paste it in the new post |

Thanks for the answer.
Just had a try, but it will only show up as a link, not as an attachment. So I will upload them again (both are small anyway). |

Thanks for wasting your time Toni
I'm really looking forward to see how the load time changes. |
