Have you tried deletiong or renaming the default configuration file ? Also since you have a rather slow machine, how much RAM is installed in it? I would recommend a minimum of 64MB.

Sure, how much ram is in the laptop then? It sounds like at least 64MB. As for the joystick part, does your laptop have a built-in touchpad? If so then you should be able to sub that for the joystick as it also acts as a mouse anyway, also you can setup and configure the keyboard to act as a joystick as well. Check out the config tabs for more info on this as well as the help files.

I use WinUAE 0.8.8R9 on my 133Mhz. Pentium Laptop with 32MB Ram, works great but all newer Versions are painfully slow !

DosUAE and dosFellow ran fine on my 133 mhz with 32 mb ram back then too. Could be that the dos versions are less system demanding.

I'd say that, perhaps this is the way to go, but there is nothing that beats the ease to which the Win32 ports allow you configure things with nice GUI's
Not everyone is into the command line thing. |

Info located on the site, Back To The Roots:
http://www.back2roots.org/News/Find/?find=james+pond This seems to indicate there is a problem with the disk version they tested, but it appears the CD32 version maybe the best option. Is this the version you have? |

You're using Windows 95. If I'm not completely wrong, Win95 is NOT compatible with current WinUAE versions. If you can cope with some game compatibility loss, use WinUAE 0.8.8 R8. This one will work perfectly on Win95. |

The latest WinUAE Runs freakingly fast on my Duron 800. I UNLHA'd "Genetic species" earlier, 60odd meg LHA'd, decompressed in about 5 seconds. |
