Downloading files
I've installed Workbench 3.1 on to an Amiga 1200 CF drive and EasyNet. It connects to the Internet and via the telnet client bundled with EasyNet I've connected to a BBS.
So the noob question is, how do I download files? I need to install a web browser, lha and WHDLoad but do not know how to download files on to my Internet connected Amiga 1200! |

A link to a guide on the Amiga 1200 hardware would be handy, everything I can find is for WinUAE where you copy files into place on the Windows file system. I did this all in 1999 but cannot remember anything!

For Download in addition to the Browser you could use the command Wget from a Shell.
With WinUAEyou can share Windows volumes or folders by adding them as HD, or after loading the Workbench, drag folders and volumes from Windows desktops onto the Workbench, see video. [ Show youtube player ] |

Your choice of browser is either Aweb or iBrowse. Aweb is available on Aminet or virtually any Amiga site that hosts downloads, iBrowse is the best one and is freely available as a time limited demo, the full version can easily be found with a bit of google-fu however.
There is also a new version of iBrowse coming that will be available for purchase again. |

Seems to come bundled with telnet and nothing more. I'm going to take out the drive and mount it in WinUAE to copy the needed files over.

Setting up a hard drive on WinUAE first makes life much easier, I'd recommend it to anyone struggling to set up an Amiga the old school way. I used the video below as a guide.
