Amiga 1200 weird crashes

hi there,

i have an a1200, awesome case mod, worked like a breeze until recently. now its behaving weird.

certain programs crash. they always seem to crash at the same point of execution, every time.

workbench itself and most programs are stable, only a few certain programs are affected.

i have tried running these programs off a floppy, instead of the hdd. same problem.

they run fine on a different amiga from the floppy. so the software and the disc are ok.

i suspect a ram or chipset problem.

i tried some memcheck tools form aminet but they didnt show any errors.

any advice? who can help me diagnose and repair?

help much appreciated!!

PS even with hdd and all expansion boards disconnected from the system, the crashes still appear.

when the program crashes, it produces a system dialogue windows that asks me to "suspend or reboot".

which programs or games are affected?
be more specific
also what kind of turboboard have your A1200
which revision of motherboard is?

Stupid question time: Are you sure the PSU you use with the Amiga is healthy?
If so, time to crack open that Amiga and do some analyzing...

Look out for any dried solder joints on the custom chips' pins.
Also look for a hint of green/cyan color on the PCB around the grey SMD capacitors (metal can on tiny socket). This means that they are leaking its electrolyte and are dying, time to change them if that's the case.
