Game franchises that started on the Amiga that are still alive today

Are there many game franchises still alive and kicking that had their beginnings on the Amiga? The key ones I can think of are Worms, Lemmings and (arguably!) The Settlers.

(This might be for a PortsCenter-related project...)

It is a bit broader in spectrum, but the following thread has some suggestions:

I know Cinemaware has carried on for some time and perhaps still does, but it's probably more of a retrophilia than being "alive & kicking".

Shadow of the Beast.

There's the PS4 remake; personally I've never played it though as I don't own any consoles.

Syndicate got some sort of a proper modern sequel. I think there was a kickstarter for Sensible Soccer as well.

Sociable Soccer - failed kickstarter first of all. Never played it

Dinio Dino also did Kick Off Revival a couple of years ago which had dire reviews

Its a bit of a stretch to call Syndicate an Amiga original though, it looks like it released for Amiga and PC at the same time.

Difficituly is to see original Amiga games that continue in new episode today. Amiga in the past had many conversion from Atari and PC.
At memory i don't remember a game born and developed on Amiga and that now is on the market for modern OS.

For example: "Syndicate" is not born on Amiga becaus it was a porting from PC and i read from somewere that also "Beneath a Steel sky" was born first on DOS (but for this one i could wrong)

"Defender of the Crown", i think, is born on Amiga and in 2002 for Windows: Defender of the Crown: Digitally Remastered and in 2007 Defender of the Crown: Heroes Lives Forever

Zak MacKraken (maybe is produced in the same time for Amiga and DOS) and in 2009: Zak McKracken 2: Between time and Space

Zork series start with Amiga and go enhanced with Return to Zork, Zork: Nemesis, Zork Grand Inquisitor, Zork: The Undiscovered Underground

Yep, Syndicate was Bullfrog’s first game that was led on MS-DOS, before being ported to Amiga, although i’m sure Syndicate and Theme Park were developed in somewhat parallel or not far behind.

This is a bit of a hair splitting exercise. Syndicate is an Amiga icon and it was hugely influential on this platform. So IMO it really is not that relevant that it was released alongside PC version and maybe developed on the more powerful machine first (surprise surprise).

Unless OP wants to change the thread title to Game Franchises That Started On Amiga And Were Developed on And Exclusive To This Very Platform And...

Defender of the Crown was an Amiga original.

Zak was a SCUMM game developed (like the other early SCUMM games) originally on the C64, not the Amiga.

Ummm but ZORK?! Zork goes back to the PDP-10 in the late 70's (yes, the PDP-10, not PDP-11!), and was eventually released to microcomputers long before the Amiga even existed. After the original MDL version of Zork, the authors implemented a virtual machine (Z-machine largely based on MDL) that would be portable to multiple systems. Eventually an Amiga interpreter was released (and thus games could be rereleased quickly on the Amiga just like all other platforms with a Z-machine interpreter)

Just discovered that Cannon Fodder 3 was released in 2012 on Steam , obviously by different developers, but looks ok.

Might wait to see if it goes on sale at some point as it seems to have mixed reviews.
But wow Cannon Fodder 3.... i had no idea lol

I think you may find that Giana Sisters was C64 game first?

And I hate to say it but Kick Off was ST first then ported to Amiga.

Sorry!

Project X on PSX? Hah, must check it out...could be quite a looker in 240p. This is what happens when you limit yourself only to NTSC romsets...

Had it - didn't really play like Project X but looked very pretty. Hard though so it had that from Project X!
