Lotus 1+2, Supercars 1+2, 4 of the best games on the amiga, never mind just gremlin.

Zool always seemed to be a bit of a 'we can do platformers too', just nowhere near as well as Sega or Nintendo.

I really liked Harlequin despite all its shortcomings, and still play it through occasionally. So say thanks to them for that if you get the chance.

Also Supercars 2, after 20 years I finally beat the bastard hard level using savestates. The reward is "Congratulations"
Thanks a bundle Magnetic Fields!
Brilliant game though.

Can you give an example? I thought it was a pretty solid and original platformer/puzzler with a nice soundtrack. A bit too difficult perhaps.

My favourites:
Shadow Fighter
Lotus II
Zool II

They had some promising titles which ended being boring and unpolished ( Pegaus, LotusIII, Venus Flytrap, SwitchbladeII )
A very good designed game is VideoKid, but gameplay is utter crap. FOFT suffers of something similar.

Harlequin design were too strange to be cool.. extreme palette restrictions and ugly dithering,.. a pity.

The controls aren't that great either, but I was also quite into the game. The mix of the difficulty and the controls finally put me off though.

@Zetty
Certainly the Lotus games and Plan 9 From Outer Space

Hm. I was spoiled by much worse games at the time so I think I didn't really notice the controls thing. I was an easy to please gamer anyway, a game had to be really terrible for me to not like it Case in point: I've played Castlevania many times...

Lotus 1 is the best Lotus game, Super Cars 1 and 2 are both equally great, although I'm biased towards the first for being a better singleplayer game than the second. Motorhead that came out later on the PC and Playstation was a damn good futuristic racing game as well.

I loved Shadow Fighter on the Amiga 1200, and the box shows that it was used a lot. Most played 1 vs 1 fighting game on the Amiga for me. I also enjoyed Gekido on the PS1, despite the control issues.

Space Crusade was one of the few turn-based strategy games I enjoyed.
