Another World...

Hey guys,

After all the stuff relating to Flashback, I thought that I may as well see if the .ipf file 1881 Another World 2 OCS EU Retail: Delphine Collection also is missing protection...

Gave it a try and although the code screen comes up, you can enter in whatever you like

Decided to make .adf files and then play test this to make sure it's 100% working. Well, I was able to finish completely but found out some interesting stuff in relation to the Crystal cracked version vs. the .ipf files in the way text is displyed...

I'll attach the Crystal cracked screenshot and then the .ipf / .adf screenshot and give a breif desciption of each.

By Eric Chani [Crystal]: centred.
By Eric Chani [.ipf or .adf]: not centred.

Music and Sound [Crystal]: says MUSIC AND SOUND EFFECTS + missing the word BY.
Music and Sound [ipf or .adf]: says MUSIC AND SOUND F-X and has the word BY.

I guess this is not something special, Damien. Crystal cracked the retail version released in 1991 and this is the Delphine Collection version released in 1995. Many time for some changes.

End02 [.ipf or .adf]: no names are displayed under Thanks to.

No it isn't anything special, just strange...

I find it very weird that they left out the names underneith Sound Effects and Thanks to on the Delphine Collection

Conclusion:
Even though the created .adf files from .ipf files are missing protection and 100% identical to each other (after discovering this I then did the last stage again with the .ipf files), for the above reasons I think I'm going to stick with the Crystal crack...

I might just upload the tested .adf files which were created from the .ipf files anyway seeing that we know it's working 100% (even though it's missing text which the original retail version)...

Agreed, cheers Adderly

Just very annoying that it's missing those names in the end sequence when compared with the original release. To me that's quite important

Like I've said above though, the .ipf files are exactly the same... I wonder why this would be

There's an US version under the name "Out Of This World" as well.

Ah yes, how could I forget that one

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that the .ipf would be protected so not much use to a person like me who know's nothing about cracking games

Personally I think the adf's copied from the IPFs should be deleted completely and not spread!

It is obviously NOT the 1991 retail version and I think it is pointless comparing it to the crystal crack. Compare the 1991 ver to the Crystal crack and lets stop filling tosec with pointless adf's!

Flashback was a different story as there was no full English version available!

Not sure if TOSEC is correct w/ the [cr], but you might want to try these:

Fine, don't include them in Tosecs then. It doesn't bother me either way...

I wanted to see if the same process could also be applied and most importantly was hoping that it would be exactly the same as the retail version (without proection of course).

Don't take it personally DamienD

You are doing a splendid job but unlike flashback there is little point in including yet more adf's in tosec when there is no need.

Tosec is already full of enough alts and pointless adf's. All I am trying to do is limit the amount of this crap there is.

It's too late now.. this one will have to be included as others will have downloaded it.. but one more game doesn't matter.

I understand where you coming from. Yes, there are definitely too many alts and pointless .adf's in Tosecs.

Also, I guess I was praying that by some small miracle Delphine had included that *extra* level that's in all other versions besides the original Amiga one

I wouldn't say this one is pointless though. It works 100%, just as the same version of .ipf does... I tell you what, I'd be pissed if I bought this in the Dephine Collection and then found out those names / text was missing from the end sequence

In terms of .adf files being created from .ipf files, both Flashback and Another World are very rare cases indeed. Usually there's no way this would be possible at all due to things like protection and not to mention the various different disk systems, track length etc...

I agree but I'd be pissed at delphine!

as it is Tosec contains cracked working english version with all the full credits etc so really there is no need for this ADF version.

I think it is good to check and see the differences etc.. and where needed the adf's should be added.. but just adding the adf's for the sake of it (when the ipfs are available, and a working crack is available too) is a bit pointless.

I appreciate the work you are putting in.. maybe you should play gods (Ipf and adf) and note the differences as gods was never properly cracked (Difficulty went thru the roof)

Hmmm, I was playing around with a Hex Editor today and could see that the names missing on screen from under Sound effects and Thanks to are actually in the file another on Disk 1...

Very weird

Interesting Darkripper... On PlanetEmu there are 2 x versions of The Company crack, the one you have is most probably:

... Another World (1991)(U.S. Gold)[cr CPY][h ATX](Disk 1 of 2).adf
... Another World (1991)(U.S. Gold)[cr CPY][h ATX](Disk 2 of 2).adf

Hmmm, not a comforting thing that it says "ENGLISH CONVERSION BY ICE-ANTHROX" on the protection screen. Also the [h ATX] means it's hacked by ATX

Anyway, the version I would use is the one that Flashtro kindly cracked for us from the full English .IPF file, see here http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=250167&postcount=54

It's in The Zone! at the moment

aaah I had the same version too!

funny how I miss the cracktro... I think I'll redo my favourite collections with some cracked ADFs. It’s got that more classic amiga feeling!
