On real hardware one CF card works the other doesn't, but...

Hello,

I have two CF cards; SanDisk Ultra II 2GB (I'll refer to this as 'A') and another SanDisk Ultra 4GB (I'll refer to this as 'B').

I connect the CF cards to an A500+ through an AEC-7720U and an IDE to CF adapter. For the A1200 I just use an IDE to CF adapter.

Now;

CF card 'A' work in WinUAE and the A1200 but not the A500+
CF card 'B' works in all, WinUAE, A1200 and A500+

but...

On a past setup I had (before formatting) CF card 'A' did work with the A500+!

So what is wrong...

The only thing I can think of is that maybe (not sure however) I formatted and installed Workbench on one CF card from WinUAE and the other from the A1200.

When I use CF card 'A' on the A500+ the screen remain as if booting, I can see light turning on in the IDE to CF adapter which implies some activity. However workbench never comes up. After some time the red light turns off. The insert disk screen never comes up either.

I have Workbench 3.1 installed on both CF cards.

Does anyone know what the problem might be and how can I fix it?

pfs3-020 for example.. I think SFS was 020+ too?

You might be able to deduce what FS is in there if you look at the RDB filesystems with hdtoolbox. In PFS3's case, the different versions are of different lengths, which may aid in your detective work.
