Hello World!

Hello everyone,

I'm Casper, from the North East in the UK

I have many fond memories growing up with the Amiga 500 in the 90s, Lemmings was my favourite game of all time, I can still remember the joy waiting for school days to finish so I could run home to play it, I think with all the games I had, Lemmings was the one I spent most of my time on, growing up I remember upgrading to the 600, then the 1200, then moving onto DOS gaming, but the Amiga was special, over the years I've never forgot about the Amiga and wondered many times what happened to the company, since the new year I've been looking into the Amiga history and from what I've seen it's a huge mess, trademark battles and battles over the ownership of the workbench source, it's a shame.

I do wonder what the future holds for "Amiga", with such a messy history over the trademark.

I'd like to be involved in the Amiga community, if anyone is able to point me in the direction I'd much appreciate it.

Thank you
Casper

Welcome, Casper...

Well, don't get too hung up on all the legal battles, in the end you they usually don't get into your daily enjoyment of Amiga and its scene.

These days there is a lot of community driven stuff happening, like new cases, key caps, Accelerator and graphics cards like the Vampire or VA2000 and lots of other cool things happening.

Thanks for sharing, it's great to see the community is alive and active, I look forward to being an active member, I just need to see what I can get involved with

So, do you already know what you can get involved with ?

Professional use, just for fun or what else ?

For the moment, I think I just need to get my feet wet, by the looks of it there's a lot of things going on around the forum at the moment, if you have any suggestions on where I should look first I'd really appreciate them, something I'd like to get involved with as time goes on is PCB prototyping/testing as well

I've just came across http://www.amigapcb.org/ which shows an interactive viewpoint of the Amiga PCB's, it's quite interesting
