My parents bought our C64 and regularly brought home budget titles and amassed quite a collection, but when I bought my Amiga they never bothered trying it. I think they liked the simplicity of the 64.

More Amiga time for me!

My Dad and Step-Father didn't really play games... my Dad would take me and my twin to arcades though and spend hours watching us play.

My Step-Father's friend used to love strategy games; Powermonger was his favourite.

Kind of. Expo might be a better word. Large venue with stands. You could buy software/hardware.

World of Amiga and Amiga 34 (got my tickets!) are other examples.

Yep, my father would take me and my sister to the local arcade back in the early 1980s in the centre of town, it was my first intro to videogames, and I remember being particularly impressed by Battlezone.

Ms. Pacman & Blue Max were the two my folks frequently played past my bedtime.
I didn't have a TV in my room back then so the breadbin sat next to the TV in the living room... Which kind of sucked when news were about to start and I had to move over.

In my father's day, there weren't any computers, i bought in new Amiga 500Plus to my two sons, after trying it I brought it back to the dealer because the keyboard wrote in German

The trader after explaining to me how to change the keyboard, I came home and after a few months I became the expert Amiga of the trader

Today trying the same with my stepson. How can I get him off the ipad...
It's not so hard. For example going out with him and building a catapult.

And I like to watch all good movies from the 80s and 90s with him.
And last weekend he plays Turrican 3 from start to end in WinUAE.

I hope he will have great memories of me when grown up, because I introduced him to all this retro stuff.

That leads me to another topic:
