Thanks, TCD! It's a long time since I installed Workbench 3.1 in WinUAE. I have used the same OS3.1 HDF for the last eight years or so. It's never got corrupted and it's never let me down.

That's done it. Thanks for the help.

This probably isn't the place but I've tried Valhalla again and it got further than the intro and asked for the level code, I want to start at level one, so I just pressed Enter but once I do that it just cuts out. Any ideas on that one?

Small suggestion, if it's possible for WinUAE to modify folder rights during install. Change the security of WinUAE's root folder so that Users have full control.

If it's already installed you do this by right-click the folder > Properties. Click the Security tab. Click the Edit button. Select "Users" and tick the "Full Control" allow box.
Of course, you need administrative rights to do this. Afterward, you can untick that box, save screenshots, read/write disks, etc, without running WinUAE as an Administrator.

Or maybe have have configs, save states, disks, etc. default to a more 'accessible' location?
