I hope they bring the original title screen back, the back alley with the neon sign and the trash cans where some cute alien eyes are visible Oh and of course the kick-ass music... One of the best pieces of Amiga music I ever heard.
In the original game, I also liked the small mysteries like the weird brown octopus-like alien that just rolled it's eye and growled when you clicked on it, I always wondered if it was some hidden opponent The characters where all funy as well... The snobbish crocodile that sips his martini after each strike until he collapses, the cute alien with the big eyes which can barely see over the table edge and whinces everytime you score and begins to cry when you win... A classic game if you ask me Gameplay was also good. I hope the best for the remake, although truth be told it was pretty mch perfect back then, it could just be ported over the new platforms and be as much fun! Edit: Apparently the remake has some homages to Hitchhiker'S Guide To The Galaxy in it... The translating fish and the robot named Marv1n Last edited by Cherno; 11 April 2013 at 15:30. |

I used to play Shufflepuck Cafe on my Amiga 500 back then and win against all opponents! Good memories. The steering of the new one seems to be imprecise, judged by the Youtube video.

i bought it and been playing for 2 hours straight
it's actually a really good remake! even has the music from the original for floors one and two i like all the upgrades, and while the ai gets tough very quickly, it's not outrageously impossible like i remember one character was in the original. although i still have one floor to go so i may just meet said foe. if you do get it, my advice is dont blow your money for access to new floors too quickly play the robot in the first room on survival mode and spend your dosh first on a mallet upgrade. i chose the Providential Mallet as it gives a cred for every time the puck is hit, which with rallies and multipliers netted me more than my points per puck in one game for anyone looking to compete, i've just managed 17 points against M4RVIN in the first room on survival EDIT oh and steam group joined TCD |

I played a lot of Shufflepuck Cafe on my original A500 in the 90s, but I'm not sure if my reflexes are still up for it today I guess when it goes under 5 € I'll grab it

perhaps the designers accounted for the ones now grown up and a bit slower but with fond memories cheers and did someone just send me a 20% off coupon for Velocity Ultra? i still have a 75% off voucher for Lunar Flight going spare, but warning, it's for people with proper analogue sticks and a lot of patience perhaps we should have a steam thread for trading such vouchers and cards |

Our off topic gaming is quite 'steamy' Have a look here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=71316 (I'll list my coupons there now too).
And that's it for the Steam OT here |

I think my diminished reflexes will be helped a LOT by not having to use a shit, unresponsive Amiga mouse these days

I played Shufflepuck Café a lot back in the days, it was one of the first games I got after finally getting my own Amiga. Did anyone else notice how the sign for the in-game currency "Credz" is made out to resemble the Commodore sign?
I've also joined the EAB Steam group, my user name is Robert if anyone wants to play some games some time. |

How the heck did I miss this thread?!
I used to like this game too back in the day. Although I can't remember if it was a one and/or two player game against friends instead of computer controlled opponents .... The remake looks pretty impressive as well although I'm a sucker for nostalgia as opposed to HD remakes but after watching the Youtube video, my arm might just be twisted far enough to get this one. |

Looks okay, but I don't like the Star Wars feel about it. The freakshow in a bar setting was much better. I think I still prefer the original.
