Had a nice run, but ran out of lives in the world of flying bats and pinkies :/.
Anyways upped my score some

And here's a tip for Blizzard PPC -users or those that find the game running waay too fast - use "ExpChip"-tooltype on WHDLoad.

Ok, first a couple of issues with the WHDload version:

1) After completing the game you get end sequence (2nd picture below), enter your name into hi-score (take any pictures NOW), baddies sequence (sprite scaling), then end credits. Once the text stops scrolling to show the names of the 3 guys pictured in the background the game stops. Pressing fire button exits the game back to workbench.

2) Pressing Escape during gameplay on the ADF exits the current game and returns to the title screen. In the WHDload version it resets the current level you are on to the start of the same level again - but you don't lose any lives and your score isn't reset

Ok, now the good news. I completed the game earlier today, including beating the boss on lvl 50, 2 doors, multiple cash cards and 1 mini-boss.

EPIC score mate

PS, thanks for the tip on taking a screeny before finishing entering your name, i've been doing that anyway recently but its good to know

EDIT 2... wow that's a seriously easy way to cheat. i noticed the level reset too but i was sure it took a life. pain in the ass if i get a bad start and want to start over as i have to either quit back to workbench or wait for the enemies to take every life

Yes, but I forgot to mention on here (though I mentioned it on Lemon earlier) you get 2 million points for beating the final boss.

No problem. I generally take pics mid-game too (once I have beaten my previous best) just incase it crashes or something unexpected happens.

Yeah, I'm surprised that it hasn't been picked up before, considering the WHDload version appears to be the only stable version around - thus the most played.

Wow, some really massive scores going on here.. well done lonewolf, diablo etc

I'm still struggling with this lol.. find it very frustrating. This game and me, we just do not get along. Like some sort of blind date from hell.

BTW if you have a bad run and want to restart the game then press 'P' then 'ESC'.
I do this a lot.

aha! brilliant, cheers mate.

try watching some playthroughs as each level does have a certain way you can reach the top very, very quickly (within 5 seconds). for example, the first level, jumpe up and left, up and left again. wait for the beast above you to drop down, freeze it or jump to the top... make two snowballs on the top platform and knock one into the other to kill everything at once these kind of tactics can be repeated over and over, it's just finding the right way to the top. in some cases you have to immediately jump up through monsters and over them while you're flashing at the start.

i actually found myself doing better when i was playing aggressively than when i played tactically.

Ahhh, pause then exit. I didn't know that

Ok, this run started off poorly (I failed to get cash cards on level 1), but things picked up later on. I took out 3 mini-bosses (50,000pts x3), got multiple cashcards and 4 doors. 2 doors were flukes, one on level 41 (which gives bonuses and approx. 8 lives) and one on level 48 (which was extra lives only - approx. 25 of them - in a X pattern).

I was wrong yesterday about the end of game bonuses. It appears to be 2 million for completing the game and an additional 100,000 for any lives left over at the end of the game. I had around 41 lives!!!

Hehe, yeah

I do hope someone is going to try and match it though. We have 2 weeks left and I certainly won't stop playing until the end.

hardcore

i can only play it in the morning when i'm buzzing on home blended coffee beans in double espresso but i've been lazy today and yesterday (haven't made much progress on my CD1200 either )

EDIT - who and cadaver need not bother either it seems looking at the average

[ Show youtube player ]

EDIT 2 - although, if the Lemons increase their score, i may have to put another 20 mins in to put them back in their place

Yeah, it really annoys me too. I made it to level 50 today with an amazing score of 1,980,000 or so, but only 3 lives so I got killed. I tend to score better when I don't try to go for the doors and just go for the fun factor.

I just had a mediocre run go to uber status after accessing the hidden door on level 48 - adding 25 lives to my 21 lives (worth an additional 4.6 million points after beating the final boss) to get this score...

8,206,350

I really should learn when to stop

PS. My high scores in the WHDload savefile seem to crash the game when I try to start it, which is why this one doesn't have any of my old scores.

no, seriously, there's beating our foe, and then there's smacking them over the head with a crowbar, and pulling their pants down while they're on the floor and inserting a large implement... you, good sir, have done the latter

I wasn't trying to get another big score, I just wanted to confirm where the hidden lives are at the bosses, to find more hidden doors and take snapshots of the bonus area and hidden doors. So far I have only found hidden doors on lvls 3, 12, 32 and 48, with around 18 levels having no hidden doors.

Thanks!

@ Who/Cadaver - your scores are so samey, and I notice you both use the same machine to score. I guess you just copy each others moves when playing together.
