IPF Games - Snow Bros

Hello guys,

I have just downloaded SnowBall Bross in .IPF files and it works if I load
it in WinUAE.

Do .IPF allow to install the game on the HD?

I have heard of pre-installed WHDLoad games: are they the IPF or not?

If not where can I find pre-installed games in WHDLoad?

He means "Snow Bros"

To use IPF you need the SPS DLL

Check out http://www.whdownload.com/. I believe that KillerGorilla uses originals and IPFs to create the installs where possible.

sorry it was SNOW BROSS and I have the .dll too and it works fine.

But I tought I could install it on the HD since I have heard that IPS can be
installed, if I am wrong I have heard of a collection of games pre-installed.
That do not need all the WHDLoad installation.

Can you tell me where I can find them?

I'm pretty sure there is no HD installed version of Snow Bros. that doesn't use WHDLoad.

You do realise that this scary "WHDLoad installation process" is just copying 2 (two) files?

One goes to C on you System partition and the other one to S.

Seriously though, whdload is very simple to install.

I'd recommend it.

Ok , if you says it's simple to install WHDLoad I can believe you but

the problems is that WHDLoad works only with originals.

Now I am wondering if the .IPF Games would work with WHDLoad

since I has read that .ipf are dump of original floppies with errors too?

Hi dannypet,

IPF's are the original disks with all copy-protections and everything else on them. You can't get more original than that

. They are perfect for WHDLoad installs!

As CodyJarett has already said, you can download "already installed" versions. You just need to unpack them and play them!

Hmmm, if you are trying to do your own install instead of downloading an "already installed" version you still have to have the HD installer for the game.

Is this what you mean Dannypet?.
