hi,
For the record, DP wouldn't play Cracker's Journal music as is because of the sample loops (not being /2). I've fixed this and the result is here : http://amp.dascene.net/downmod.php?index=93917 (just added) Ah and it's a Soundtracker file (15 samples .. not 16) and shouldn't ever become converted to 31. But I might be too purist for that @Photon : I'll update Kestra Cya Sylvain |

I use ExoticRipper too, combined with Noiseconverter, Pro-Wizard, JackTheRipper and MultiRipper this way almost all can be decrunched, ripped and reconverted back to a standard Protracker file
One I forgot is Action Replay Mk III rom Of course, not all can be done, it really just depends on what crunch type and mod format they recognise Versions I've got are :- Pro Wizard 2.20 Exotic Ripper 3.3 Noiseconverter 1.53 Jack The Ripper ? Multi Ripper 3.0 Action Replay Mk III 3.17 Any newer ones would be much appreciated but I think I have the latest ones already @Asle Try Noiseconverter 1.53 this can convert them too 'n' it's quite good. Like I said before it doesn't recognise all formats though |

How to do, do you cut the samples straight from the file, or will you take the original samples from ST-00 etc. |

Either I get them using the sample ripper in WinUAE or directly from the file. Have to see which method will work better

I'm not 100% sure if it's a raw sample or if a WAV header is added. The format (bit/samplerate) of the sample is the same. So it's not a file-wise correct reproduction that I will make, but a 'hear-wise'

And then you use the SoundTracker Editor to join the songdata and the sampledata, correct?

Ok, thank you both, TCD and StingRay for the infos.
For collectors like me is the best method to rip the samples straight from disk or file. I only wanted to know, which method is used by TCD. |

The best approach would be to code a converter for these kind of modules -> original, non-modified samples -> as close as possible to the original module! That's what I would to at least.

A good example is the game "Banzai", its only possible to rip the mods by hand. |
