I got a 'bluepill' developer board, to run Greaseweazle and dump some floppy disks

On the plus side, I ended up making a simple frontend for windows.

On the minus side: lots of my disks seem to have errors

It's on the releases tab. It's just a quick vb.net program. Sources are there, if anyone wants to make it better!

I use it to dump, then launch aufit.exe

Thank you! I was considering using VB to do something like GUI and you have options to select directory, filename, COM port and whether you want to read/write.

I may still do it when I get the chance and if I can figure out how to use it lol. Only seen basic tutorial online as to how to use it.

How to use Greaseweazle?

Download and install python. (There's a link in the frontend if you want it).
Make sure to add it to your path.

Download and unzip Greaseweazle.

Connect the drive to the board. (Which kind of drive are you using?)
Connect the board to the PC.

You can now either run the front end, or, run it from the command line.

If it's command line, open a command line, and change to the folder with the gw.py file in it, from the unzipped greaseweazle.

then type:

python gw.py read nameofmydisk.scp COM1

or whatever com port the device is on.

To use the frontend,

point to the gw.py script.
point to the python.exe
pick your com port from the dropdown.
Set your name, system etc etc.
Pick your save folder.
click read.

By the end of January, I had received my scanline generator from some UK eBay vendor (I'll post a link to the item on eBay, if you're interested). I use it in conjunction with my VGA box to display proper component signal from the "FAT" PS2 on my 22'' CRT Diamond Pro. I took pictures of Mortal Kombat Mystification / Deception checkerboard with and without the generated scanlines (adjustment knob is set to big scanlines, but I usually use small ones, they're more subtle). Very neat effect, see for yourself :
