ACA620+ Acatune maxmem+PCMCIA CF--> SYS failure

I have an Amiga 600 with an ACA620 that works really fine with 3.9, maxmem and 1mb memory expansion. I have also installed all the necessary files for a PCMCIA CF to be recognised but when i have maxmem on and i insert a card, the system hangs. Is this normal? Don't think so, since the ACA620 is known to be PCMCIA friendly or....really not? Any ideas,tips? When maxmem is set to off, everything works fine except from the less memory.

Are you sure your card's memory is fine?
My ACA620 had issues with RAM making lock ups on the system when MAXMEM was issued.

The ACA620 originally had to go back to the manufacturer for a fix, was yours done?

Perhaps you need to contact your reseller as it should be PCMCIA friendly, at least mine always was and I used the Maxmem from the start, originally mine would crash out on WHDLoad Games and was very unstable, after the fix 100% reliable.

Steve.

You can check the card with boards.library - install it and run "showboards s".

It'll display a warning and icomp's contact address, if the card needs a CPLD update.

Yes, I sent the card back to Amigakit and they sent a new one. They didn't figure it out, at least for as long as the ticket was open, what was wrong with it, but it was broken and unstable.

The card ran fine when some memory was issued, but maxmem always randomly crashed it. You can look on my thread to find the test program Magervalp made to test turning on memory blocks to see which one screws your system up:
