My First Amiga 4000

Hi, I just got my first A4000 040 the other day and have been getting it ready to share with everyone The first thing I want to do is to thank the previous owner from Germany in doing a great job with the packaging in making sure it arrived safely here in Scotland and also thanks for providing help with supplying me with a great multisync monitor which should be on its way soon. The Amiga is fully loaded with expantion cards and 3 HD's full loaded with software and all the original disks. There is a lot to keep me occupied with hours of fun for a long time, just getting to grips with it all and a lot of stuff that I have no previous experience with, but that's what appealed to me (never to late to learn) when I saw it forsale. One of the coolest things I've come across is Siamese Amiga to Pc. So one of the first things which I'm in the process of doing is getting together a ISA motherboad computer set-up, with a little help from a friend in sourcing the parts this should be up and running soon.

A nice haul Don!

I have an EGS Spectrum as well. Are you using picasso drivers or the supplied Spectrum ones?

Best Regards,

Mark

You should remove the battery (if it's the original one).

Hi Thanks

I have removed the battery, all clean and board looks great.

@mfletcher

I believe its all set-up with the Spectrum ones! As I was trying to set-up (vga only) with pc monitor, seeing what drivers where in the deves folder (spectrum) but wasn't working, so its just running off rgb to scart, till I get my muiltisync monitor which should be with me soon. Monitor is a IDEK Liyama 5017 which I believe is one of the best monitors to get.

Don,

Good haul of kit you got yourself there!

Could you post a couple of pictures of the Frame machine software running and let me know what the video capture is like? I got one of these from my parents bak in the day but when I connected it up to my A4000 all I got was a black screen and the machine would not boot, se it was sent back for a refund. I always wanted to see it working though. If you decide you may get rid of it let me know as I may be interested. I'm in Glasgow btw.

Cheers,

Robert

Hi Cheers for the comments

I haven't tried the frame machine yet, but will look into setting it up and try to get it running.

@ 8bitbubsy

Very skint till the end of next month, as I have also paid for a couple of extra Amiga kit one being the monitor shipping from Germany and one other high value item which I'm just praying that it makes it here

I going to need a cousin at the back of the door or the bill might drop right through the floor
