"KeepPlanarImages" does not seem to solve the problem with the Mixage (RemLib)

"KeepPlanarImages" it should be placed in some specific place, i placed it first in the User-startup and then I also tried in the startup-sequence before "Iprefs"

Should be inserted above LoadWB, but of course, it can not repair OS4 icons which already have my small planar images stored. It just avoids replacing the planar images when you save the original Mason icons, for example. It works for me, but I will probably never try it with RemLib. On the other side, I can't imagine why it shouldn't work with RemLib. And you took 496 ?

yes used 496, without using "RemLib" i do not have the problem AFA-OS ignore and do not use your icon.library.
"RemLib" needed it only because it allowed me to see all the OS4 icons on Dopus4

Are you sure not to use KillPlanarImages somewhere in your startup?
Where exactly is RemLib in your startup-sequence?
Before or after MoreLibSpace? Or where else?

Of KillPlanarImages I only have one entry in the Startup-sequence, see video

the RemLib command and on top of the User-startup (first entry)

Remove "KillPlanarImages" completely and insert "KeepPlanarImages" above LoadWB. You can also try later from a shell before you start copying.

Update:
Your trick with RemLib doesn't work for me. AfA's icon_lib.exe stays activated as "DEAD CAT".

Is there a patch on the icon.library IconControlA() function by icon_lib.exe or on other functions? This could prevent "KeepPlanarImages" from doing anything.

Maybe I found the culprit, it's something I have in WBStartup, I'm trying to find it

Oh, OK. Last I tried (on MiSTer Minimig), was just a couple of months ago, but it was also using DOpus5 5.91. Looked nice upon first glance, but when pressed and dragged around, the icons turned into "square dots" (not shown here)

Yes, that's a very old problem "moving icon" that also had AROS x86, in the future it will also be corrected on AROS 68k.

Found the culprit ASyncWB v45.14/v45.23

Now with "icon_lib.exe + icon.library + RemLib" everything seems to work well, KillPlanarImages it is not necessary

The hunt to other problems continues ....

Not sure if it's been mentioned before but I've been trying the "no icon border" tools on aminet, there is a line of very wrong colour at the bottom of most icons. Is there one that plays nice with this version of icon.library?

Sorry, the only Aros 68k distro I've ever tried was Aros Vision some years ago, and there were no such problems at that time. Other distros may behave differently. DOpus5 has two dragging modes, which you can select in the settings for icons. Don't use my option "DOnoColorMapping" and the DOpus5 setting "Use Custom Drag Routines" if you get problems. You could also try my option "NoDelayedImage2". But maybe something got broken in the last 2-3 years. I would need exact info about the distro to test it on WinUAE provided that it's not too big.

@AMIGASYSTEM
KillPlanarImages was never the right choice, you should use KeepPlanarImages. Do you ? I've always AsyncWB v45.23 installed, no problem.

@Devlin
For frameless icons you either need a workbench.library v44+ or you can use the NewIcons patch as installed on my IconDemoA1200.adf or DontShowIBorder as in BetterWB or on my IconDemoA500.adf. Both floppy images are attached to the first post of this thread.

Aros Vision had the same problem when dragging the icons, AROS 68k is another thing.

This is my old Aros Vision:

This is my new AROS 68k

Install AROS 68 on WinUAE in 5 minutes

-Without AsyncWB RemLib works perfectly is no problem with OS4 icons,

-Without RemLib AsyncWB works perfectly it's no problem with OS4 icons

Now you can use it safely and without problems "icon_lib.exe + icon.library + RemLib" just delete AsyncWB

Hi AMIGASYSTEM,
why are you showing me 3 videos with Aros, but there is no icon dragging to see and none of them seems to use my library either? What is the reason?

No, I'm not a censor, it's ok if your videos were dedicated to kolla. I hope that he knows what you want to tell him with your videos ...

Is "bookshelf" the Google translation for library ?

Thanks Peter, here is a small video that shows the problem Icons on AROS 68k systems (I think they depend on the Video Card not yet completed)

That's not my library that is used in your test video. My library never makes selected icons white. It's a bug of the Aros' icon.library. But kolla was talking about small square dot icons that appeared when dragging. And in such a case my library could be responsible, but it needs some investigation first.
