Hi!

Being new to this forum and to the modern Amiga scene I have a few question:

I've just won an auction on ebay for an obscure naval wargame (I collect wargames, strategy and rpg) called Fleet Med by Simulations Canada. There's an entry in HOL but with no detail or scan. I would like to know how can I contribute to populate this entry. I do have a scanner and I'm willing to add the missing pieces once I receive the game.

What is the recommended resolution for the scans?
Do you need a copy of the game for archival purpose?
Where or to who should I send the pics and adf (is there an editor)?

I'm sorry if this isn't the place to ask...

Just realized that maybe the fact that I'm at work behind a firewall may be the reason why the entry for the game I see on amibe.net is empty. But in any case I really want to know how to contribute if the need arises.

Hi,

the entry for Fleet Med is indeed empty, so we'd be very interested in scans of that game. Most questions about standard sizes and where to upload are answered here: http://hol.abime.net/hol_faq.php?section=contributions
It would be preferred if you could include the raw scan material in its original resolution. Thank you in advance for a possible contribution

Edit: Please scan all disks that come in the box if possible. We revised the disk scan rule and try to include all disk scans now. (The F.A.Q. should be updated shortly)

Yep, I'll do that. And if I come across some other esoteric titles I'll make a point of adding them as well. That's the beauty of collecting a dead gaming genre (war games), almost no one collect them so I can get them relatively cheap especially if they aren't from well known computer studio. Simulations Canada was better known as a table top military simulation creator, and their video game are still mostly that with some computer interactivity.

I'm presently bidding on another one: "Battle Tank: Barbarossa to Stalingrad" from Simulations Canada which seems to be absent as well on HOL. I'll scan and post if I win it.

Apart from not having scans we don't even have screenshots, it seems an adf copy of this is extremely rare so a dump of the disk would be much appreciated as well. We're also missing Battle Tank: Kursk To Berlin
and I believe there were a few Simulations Canada releases that aren't listed on HOL at all because we're not 100% sure they were released on the amiga.

The game: Fleet Med from simulations Canada came in the mail today. It's in pristine condition and was preserved with the same care as being applied in the preservation of classic comic books. It was in an acid free plastic pouch with an acid free cardboard backing. All the maps and stuff are included. I won the other auction for battle tank: Barbarossa to Stalingrad. I'll do both of them at the same time and will upload the files.

I noticed that Joakim Von Anka Skattsökaren hasn't been added yet. It's not in the database at all.
Rick Dangerous Arcade Action version hasn't been addad yet either.
