Quite the odd one

Xopa and accelerated Amigas
A while back, I expressed concern regarding my 2040-card and errors reported in Xopa. Given the opportunity to test the program on other Amigas, I realized that it more often than not reported errors when they were equipped with Phase 5 Blizzard-boards (040 and 060, A2000, A3000 and A4000). I therefore dropped Axel Dörfler a line, which he - much to my surprise - was kind enough to answer. Just in case someone other than me has been wondering about this, he stated that:
"/---/this is even a known bug - if your system runs "too fast", the test runs too short to return anything meaningful, and then this problem occurs." Just thought I'd relay this info in case of the distant possibility it could be helpful to someone else. Why Apollo-boards seem to handle Xopa better (or vice versa), I don't know. Could it be that Blizzard boards are that much faster? |
