Looks like the links to the final patches released on Charlie's website are dead (reocities was an attempt to bring back geocities sites).

However the wayback machine still archives Charlie's original geocities site and you can still get the patches from there.

exact, but trilingual, so divide 117 / 3 = around 39 pages per language.

I think Frontier has to count but whilst the whole galaxy it contains is mind-blowing most of the visuals of the 3d game world are kind of simple in some ways (EG no valleys that I am aware of on the planets) but amazing in others (EG the curved edges to clouds and mountains).

From my point of view I am asking about the game engine visuals/environment point of view so I am mainly focusing on how a flight sim looks.

Carrier Command is hardly a flight sim. You can do a bit of flying in it, that's it. Impressive game for sure.

I never really played Carrier Command but watched friends play it. From what I recall the game world and effects are quite bland.

Wow! I've just got TFX working on my A1200 with ACA1230/56 and it plays surprisingly well even with gouraud shading and textures on and detail levels set at good to high levels. It's a bit buggy at times but that is already well known. That said it's still most impressive.

Doubt it, as flight sims usually require many different keys for stuff like gears / thrust / weapons / views / map etc...
