I've got XP and I just selected Format and left it at FAT

It worked for my card

got one more thing tho .. even that all works now

when i start my amiga i have the comactflash.device can´t remember the other file in DosDrivers to make it load the flash card Automaticly when i start . but when i put it in i need to excecute the command " dir cf0: " before it show upp on my WB any ide why it is so ?

If this fails, have a look at CardReset and CardPatch (there's a bug in the way A1200s handle the PCMCIA port, these proggies try to remedy that)

Both should go in your startup-sequence.

That's it. Looks complicated but trust me, it's all pretty straightforward.

hi Dave, must be my compact flash card then...i'll have to try another one..hopefully I can dig up an old one from an old digital camera

Apparently they can be very picky about the card

My first one from Amigakit didn't work

But the replacement I got works without fault

It's a 1GB SanDisk.

I've heard rumours that there are a lot of pirate ones about that won't work

Ive had my amiga for a couple of years and it use to work like a dream regarding the pcmcia card slot. I lost my usual 2gb cf card and pcmcia adapter so i bought some more. One worked but had errors and the other wouldnt show up in WB. So I sent them back to the seller on ebay who said he didnt get them!?
So i turned to an old 4GB cf, cleaned it using diskpart, formatted it to FAT32 copied some files to it and it wont show in WB. Why? I never had this issue with my previous cf card and this 4GB one was known good. I tried to mount it and it said cf0 was already mounted.
