Amiga 3000 Picassso IV mouse cursor limited to vertical area of screen
Hello,
I've just dusted off my Amiga 3000 fitted with a Picasso IV graphics card and I am having problems where the mouse cursor is limited to a vertical area on the left hand side of the screen. Whenever I move the cursor right past a certain point it wraps around, meaning I can't move my mouse past the left 10th or so of the screen. It was working fine but after I cleaned the Picasso IV card with some compressed air and gave it a quick dust with a brush it is now showing these symptoms. I am worried I have damaged it somehow. I've tried pushing in any socketed chips just in case they came loose but I don't know what else to try. Anybody got any ideas? Edit: actually, looks like it's not the Picasso board but the 3000 that might have a fault. I tried byassing the Picasso card by plugging into the A3000's dsub socket and there are similar problems. When the machine first turns on the screen is green and then when in the early startup control screen the cursor shows the same problems as described earlier (except it's the cursor movement is not limited to the left edge of the screen but seems a bit more random) and sometimes the cursor is yellow and there are stripes that can appear at the top of the screen. Thanks in advance. Last edited by crabfists; 22 April 2017 at 19:07. |
