Kinda knew it was coming, but here's official confirmation: http://www.kipper2k.com/

That's a bit misleading then. He's stopping the Vampire 600 manufacturing but I imagine he's still going to work on other versions (1200).

Which bit? And what makes you think he's interested in anything to do with the Vampires? It sounds to me like he's dropping that whole end of things and just doing small stuff that he wants to do - why would he put himself through that same hardship all over again for the V1200?

I don't know, I'm no expert. I thought they were quite far along with the V1200 project and had sourced lots of parts already so I'd be surprised if they gave up on it. But we'll just have to wait and see! The only thing he's actually confirmed is that he's stopping making the Vampire 600. The rest is speculation because his message is vague.

True. well there hasn't been any word on the V1200 being close to finished (and they're been pretty public with these things in the past). I guess the whole "fizzle away" bit sounds like he's not interested in the intensity brought by the Vampire end of things, not to mention the unwanted attention from less level-headed members of the community.
We'll see what happens. There are other members of the team who might step in and fill the void... |

Oops, maybe it was old, I only just saw it this morning and thought it might be official confirmation of unofficial news from a while back...

Im unsure if Gunnar is just trolling or serious, considering the "2 more weeks" meme has strong traditions in the Amiga comunity

Hi all!
I'm sorry to read about Kipper2K's problems... What happens with pending orders of Vampire 2 A600? Would anyone know? Take care! |

Hi all!
Kipper2K contacted me (yeah! ) two weeks ago for some more information, which I provided, but, since then no news... good news? Let me know if you have a way to reach him, please! Cheers! Last edited by tygre; 26 September 2017 at 22:05. Reason: Typo |

Kipper has been working with me on the TF328 (and his variants for the A1200) and other bits and bobs.
I think its more fun for him than building very complex boards with high value components. Less risk and he has more creative input. Just my opinion. |

1. How many V600 boards were produced in total, if production has stopped?
2. Why hasn't V600 production been licensed to someone else? EDIT: Apparently someone else on the team will be taking over production: http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=5¬e=9488 Last edited by papa_november; 30 September 2017 at 06:55. |

As stated on my site, production of V600 will be from now handled by me. First batch should be ready very soon.

Great news.
Always wanted to get one for the 600, and keep my 1000 strictly OCS. Will a few of them go to the usual Amiga dealers? |

without going in to any great detail, there was a lot of stress with the vamp project, and the final killer was the bad batch of assembled boards that i received which hurt financially, i like doing the smaller less risk projects where if i have a few mangled boards i can survive. I closed the shop and it is still closed temporarily while i sort a few things out and i am selling some items while still keeping low key.
the non working vampire boards i have are sitting in a box waiting for me to get the enthusiasm to look at them but as of yet i just avoid them. there are a couple of people i need to get sorted, sorry for the delay |

Personally, I know from experience that development on something so technical and overcoming all issues, is just terrifying at best! No-one truly understands what both Majsta and kipper2k would of endured when developing the Vampire project.
These Accelerators have changed the face of Amiga and offered a new Generation of performance to these iconic machines. IMHO even if kipper2k never did another thing for Amiga, he has done himself the computer and all us proud. <But we all know he has so much more to offer yet! Majsta has always maintained great promise and never lost this even when times were most difficult. He has powered through and brought the Vampire series to the forefront of everything we hold close. |
