Aztec Monster SCSI to CF on Amiga 3000D

Hi,

Has anyone ever successfully used the Aztec Monster SCSI to CF adapter in an Amiga 3000D? I have one I bought on eBay recently, and it causes the computer to freeze during boot. I even updated my SCSI controller IC from WD33C93A to WD33C93B, and it still won't work. If I disconnect the RESET line on pin 40 and briefly connect it to ground, I can get the computer to boot. If I try opening HDToolbox, it freezes again. If I connect RESET to ground again briefly, HDToolbox continues. I can read the CF card ID this way too, but cannot write to it. Every operation requires a reset of the Aztec Monster board. Anybody have any ideas?

sorry this is late, but if you read this I'd like to know which version of the Amiga operating system & rom you are using. I'm thinking about getting an AztechMonster myself.
