Black Dahlia an awesome FMV adventure game for windows (1998)
Read a review of this game today in an old mag, seems like a true gem, one of many PC games that I wanted to try back in the days but didn't have a PC and when I did I somehow forgot about it
http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/black-dahlia Anyone knows what's the latest greatest way to run it on Windows 7 x64? I mean I grabbed and installed the *cough*tpb*cough* version and it appears to already contain all the latest patches, so it run without any problems, the color pallete is OK, the movies got un-interlaced... although the resolution cannot be changed and looks awful on a 16:9 LCD and the looking around is a bit too fast, but seems fine for a first try. Sucks it's not supported in ScummVM, that would solve the resolution problem. |

What for? it works fine.
I'm asking for game-specific patches that would help me with the experience, like a full hd patch. Like I said it's already running perfectly on W7 x64, it's got some old German patch that disables scanlines, fixes multiple cores and stuff like that. But I'm completely new to this game, so maybe someone knows about some extra fixes? |

Too bad it doesn't support DOS, at least you could try with DOSBox. I gave it a shot a couple of years ago on a XP system but I hate Myst style puzzle games (esp. Ripper), so I never tried to finish it.

Well I heard some maniacs ran Windows 95 on it and I guess I could after that install the game on that, but that's just too much hassle since the game runs fine in it's native resolution.
So I guess no fans of the game here that know of any cool addons, ey? Time for me to play the game the hard way. Oh yeah baby. |
