CyberstormPPC card for A4000

I'd like to buy CyberstormPPC card for my A4000. Must be in 100% working condition, with memory simms etc.
Alternatively, I'd also be interested in buying 060-accelerator for A4000.

You'll pay between 400 and 600 euros for a 233MHz 604 CSPPC with 50MHz 060

@alexh

Sure, that's a bit pricey, eh ?
Just at the moment, I won't be abel to pay that much, but about 300 euros.
However, if it seems that I'm not going to get anything with that sum of money, I'm sure I'll have more at the beginning of February.
So, I've already started to save money for it, even though I have no job :-)

bad news the PPC unit will fail giving a bit of time... awsome card don;t get me wrong, buit a bit to much cucitry for such a small card.... it;s just too much, too hot and will die, no questions about that. It was designed as a hold over ontil they (phase 5) would come out with a new machine..... long story, resulted in te pegasos, but the CS PPC, as brilliant as it should be is al last only a waist of money, get a peg.
Get a nice 060 and remember your amiga is vinatage!
have fun, don't waist your money!

Fun to me is CLASSIC all the way.

There are things you can do to help preserve you CSPPC, fitting good coolers, trying not to touch the 68060 & socket (the cause of most problems with this card), having good airflow in your case etc.

wow, sorry for the huge pic and because I forgot to add an explanation... I am ato work lol
the csppc has no problem as long as the ppc chip is cooled PROPERLY.
the default 5v fan is not enough IMHO, as you can see I put a more efficient 12v fan on the ppc, and put the 5v original one on the 060, not that it is needed, but anyways....
if the amiga is well ventilated the csppc will not be hurt...
and having a phase5 one helps a lot, because they are generally of higher quality than dce ones...

you will love it until it burns up.. hehehe, keropi how long have you been running yours? I am curious how long they run for other people, as all that I have tried as of late burn out within a week, even with 12 volt fan. Maybe I just had bad luck? zzi have one right now that I suspect is toast (the 060 is fine) not sure if that guy in france will or can fix... $375 if you wanna give it a shot.

It would be interesting to know, how many CyberstormPPC users
(or ex-users ?!) would agree with superBuster.

So, how many satisfied CyberstormPPC users are out there ?

Are the BlizzardPPC cards made for Amiga1200 as bad ?

Did I understand right, that there's CyberstormPPC cards made by two different manufacturers, Phase5 and DCE ..??!

If so, what are the differences between them ?

SuperBuster, if I had more than one issue with a CPPC I would be looking at my MOBO and or PSU for a short! Not trying another $375 board just in case!!

yeah, I had a previous DCE csppc crap out of me, _BUT_
those are 2nd hand now, and many previous users did not even put a fan on it! so many will eventually die because they where not properly used, they are sensitive. but it worths it so much, that I took another!
and Amigaz will backup my point most certainly, he had a dead csppc and bought another!

hey guys I was satified with my card while it worked... and it did work and I did have 2 12 volt fans.
Again I like the card and like the ppc, just had back luck. (time was up)
DDNI, I have several amigas and tested with several motherboards.
The CSPPC is an AWSOME piece of grear, designed by a birilliant man, but IMO it too much silicone for it's own good, esp 10 years after it came out, they are just very faragile. ALSO I am offering my CSPPC for $375, I might buy anotuher but I do question how wise that is given the current stat of %99 of them cards, and considering some of the cool OTHER things one can do with money....
The current cycle I see is buty a CSPPC card kill card and then buy another, if they where cheap this wouldbe O.K. but the are expencive and prone to fail sometime in 2007. I too want to hear more from user that can tell me how long they have used this card with out problems. (no just ones that willing to but another after the first died)

While warpUp and morphOS are cool, I am happy with vast supply of classic amiga software.

*backing you up*

The problem with the DCE CS PPC's is that they had a tiny 25mm cooling fan on the PPC heatsink...same one used on the Blizzard PPC's instead of the much better (but still not good enough IMHO) 5V 40mm fan Phase 5 used on their CS PPC's

This is what DCE used..it's a joke

Are you really asking 375 dollars for FAULTY CyberstormPPC card ?
Even for ok working card, that kind of price would be quite fair, I think ?!

@macce2, only the PPC is bad, the 060 is fast and good, also the scsi is FAST.

this card with out the PPC is called the MKIII a very good 060 card, you will be lucky to find one.
I understand it's confussing, if you have never owned one. But yes $375 for a MKIII is resonable.

(again IMO the PPC stuff is way overblown, most software is for 6800 - 040's, very little for PPC, I'm not going to pay premium for the 2 apps the use the PPC, I learned the expencive way!)
The PPC was the very end ofthe amiga legacy, and encore some would say.....
again let's see how many people still have a CSPPC that has been faithfull and did not to be repalced and is still in service.

Thanks for advice.
However, I'd like to buy a CyberstormPPC card with also ppc chip working, even if it seems to be difficult.

it is not difficult, just expensive!
