ptrchiappe, you should image those coverdisks for TOSEC, daddy-o! They're a long ways from common!

Ok TG, i'll try to ADF them a few at a time (we're talking about 25 disks i have to transfer to PC first and then to EAB).
I won't be ADFing the 3.1 developer disks, because i guess they're already available. In case they're not, let me know. |

amigabyte was a magazine llike many of its time... the paper was kind of rough, this i remeber. there were a couple of pages for the games of the month and the disk was interesting.
@ptchiappe: on saturday, in biella (now i'm in turin) i'll look at my old disks. maybe i have some amigabyte disks and one amigamagazine... |

I have done the first part of the job : all the disks have been transformed in ADFs on my A1200.
Now the problem is transferring them to the PC (or the iMac) for uploading to the zone. Do any of you know an easy method (i.e. other than using disks because these ADFs don't compress much) to transfer them. I'm thinking of connecting an old 200Mb HD that i have, but i don't know if it can be formatted so that it can be seen from the PC. Do you if i can format the HD as DOS (the MS one i mean) ? Or you know any program that can do the same ? Or if the A1200 recognizes one when it is connected ? Hope to hear some suggestion from you all. |

You can format it as an affs volume ( amiga fast file system ), and use with the pc with:
a) adf opus for windows b) winuae can see it c) linux with the affs module, with what you can mount this and read - write on it. Quote:

As the HD was my old A1200 disk, it was already affs formatted.
So the whole process has been a lot easier than i thought, because WinUAE recognized it without any problem. Now the whole collection has been uploaded to the zone. I just named every disk with the name of the magazine and the number, but feel free to rename them following TOSEC rules. If there are problems or you need a reupload, let me know as i'm saving them on CD anyway. |

It would be a really good thing to host them somewhere [ without the 3 days limit ] ( download.abime.net - back2roots [ now the magazine disks that were hosted here are there ] ) and try to get an even bigger collection but it's already a great start .
And i don't know if it's legal to host them somewhere . p.s. The name of the tutorial was "Gioco e creo con Amiga" published by Curcio and created by Logosistemi [ i have the disk # 26 ] Quote:

They're now hosted on my Xoom HD, and i guess they won't be deleted until Xoom/Virgilio decide that i'm a useless user of their online services.
In case that happens i can always reupload them in some other place (burnt them on a CD). |
