Create HDF of just first CF card partition from WinUAE?

If I have my CF Card connected in WinUAE, I am only able to create a hard disk image of the full 8GB. Is it possible to only image the boot partition?

thanks.

WinUAE imager by design ignores all partition tables and always copies everything. Drive may have damaged RDB, or have custom partition table.

Thanks Toni. I take it then that WinUAE cannot image single partitions?

No, by design. It is a backup option, it will always copy everything.

Copying single partition without also copying partition table information can result in partition image that is useless without exactly knowing how to mount it, especially if it has non-FFS filesystem.

Thanks, that explains my failures at grabbing just the boot partition with pfs3_aio filesystem on it.

If i had to do this i'd just create a new disk image and copy all files on it.

I would too, but this is a special situation where I am sharing the drive for bug hunting so need to preserve the partition as is.

Then perhaps you can try making a new disk image with the exact same size as your partition, and use normal disk copy (like if they were just floppies).
