Yepp, I remember those poems
And also their war against Paranoimia, or 'Paralamia', as they called them. But the idea with the poems existed also a bit earlier on the C64, when Eaglesoft always included poems in their intro scrolltexts. |

I guess nobody got this working or a working version. It did write to the disk directly so maybe I screwed my copy up somewhere.

I debugged this problem and the problem is caused by track loader that tries to load from track 80 (infinite loop in trackloader because disk DMA never finds any sync words) Game works if I make WinUAE ignore steps outside normal track range. (0-79)
Game works on real A500... Unfortunately I don't have working track display so I don't know if it really tries to load from track 80 or UAE drive emulation steps to wrong location or something like that. |

If you really need a Typhoon Thompson fix, the Atari St version works perfectly on Winston or SainT. But music and graphics suffer , especially the music

Hmmm. Perhaps I used my Action Replay to get the screenshot. I'll give it a go in the emulators.

There is a way!

Petter Schau can save your life once again He has built a track display into DOS Fellow 0.3.3, hidden inside the performance meter! You find the option here: Various->Performance displayed on-screen: Yes This will show track numbers instead of percentual performance values! Hope this helps. |

I meant I don't have real A500 with track display.. I wanted to compare differences between WinUAE and real A500. (= Does Typhoon Thompson step to track 80 on real A500)

OK. Got it.
Sorry - wanted to be of any help, but couldn't. :smileek I hope that I can find an external floppy drive with track display someday. They're rare these days, you know. |

I had the Quartex crack of this game on my old a500, and it always used to bugger up once you got to a certain level anyway. It was weird, like I don't remember there being any disc-accessing beforehand, so i think the data was ok (this has been verified by checking my disc against the version in the tosec dats)...you simply finished one level and the game would just sit there, the animation still played, but the level wouldn't start. So unless somebody can come up with another version, i wouldn't spend too much time on this one.
