IDEFIX IDE buffer just stopped working
Had this IDEFIX IDE buffer for a while now.
Recently it has just stopped working all together. Doesnt boot anything attached to it etc and the 3 chips get extremely hot as soon as its powered up! Looks ok, cant see any damage. Any idea why this has happened? Last edited by Smiley; 24 February 2007 at 20:21. |

Maybe one of the chips was marginal to begin with and over the years it's deteriorated through use until it's burnt a trace or short circuited itself.
Or the PAL's programming has changed for whatever reason. Or there could have been a short circuit or a voltage surge (static zap).. |
