A tip, all good players seem to know that:

Race and win New York, Houston and Spokane. You should have about 44000 coins after that (with bets included), so you can buy the best gear box and still afford the cheap races to rebuild your cash.

As for the cops: Being chased by the cops and in a top position is a good thing because the other cars wont drive that fast, although it can be a bit demanding to drive around the traffic and police cars.

After buying the gear box, you have a class 4 car (displayed in the drivers table after a race). I assume the engine upgrade will give you only a class 3 car (you start with a class 2 car vs. class 1 for table drivers). Locals: Amateur drivers seem to have a class 1 car, average drivers a class 2, and good drivers a class 3 car.

12245*100 + 123600

1.348.100

Minor improvement. Although I enjoyed this game from time to time, I didnt play it enough to be an ace driver.

Someone requested some money making tips so here we go:

- avoid races with no drivers. no drivers = no bets
- avoid going all-in on bets since it scares the drivers into standing.
- since the 5 speed upgrade stops other players from betting, obviously the longer you hold off buying it - the better.

that's it really!

In this case, if someone had the foresight to have a map screen pic hanging around which shows an incredible score and money, since before the compo, then I guess they could cheat that way. Of course it is possible to cheat using image editing software, cheat codes, savestates, and just about every other means. Thats why this whole compo is more-or-less a gentlemans agreement NOT to cheat as it would render the whole thing absolutely worthless. I dont even practice a game before it comes up, I just play and see what happens. Screenshots are far from fool-proof but given the lack of a better idea (we cant all record videos to prove we didnt cheat, and if you've seen the excellent documentary movie 'The King Of Kong', that method is not fool-proof either), so thats what we use.

I know it seems odd when certain players just seem to be able to win round after round, but trust me, there are ways and means to check this, and if someone is found to be p#ssing on the rulez just for their own amusement, the solution is their complete removal from all championship tables/years and a lifetime ban.

...and if that fails we send Robocop over to their place to crush their head down to the size of a dice. (as a last resort)

Just to clarify, which Robocop? The original from the first 3 films, or the laughable 'new' Robocop from the recent film?

Luckily I reprogrammed Ed-209 to shot down Who's scores.

I think I could get maybe 500 points more with better bets and buying the tyres sooner, but thats about it.
