Using Sonnet actually requires a PCI graphics card. But in theory it could work with any RTG based card. It would just be slower.

That is a Quake demo running under WarpOS on a PPC accelerated 68K Amiga?
Not under OS4?

I guess that answers my question.

Now, once its perfected, any plans to build a better PCI accelerator?

Answer is a definite no. This PCI accelerator was lying around. If one would build a better accelerator (from scratch), just do it for the CPU slot I'd say.

Also in that way, WarpOS would just need a simple WarpHW.library adjustment. IF the FPU and the MMU are compatible that is. (I think the MMU from, for example, the UltimatePPC card also misses the BAT registers; not sure)

That being said, I have a 1GHz 750gx (or fx) PrPMC card lying around with a PCI2PMC pci card. It has a different bridge (marvell) and I don't know if the mediator supports these kind of things, but it's on the list to give it a try one of these days.

Got notice that somebody modded the Sonnet card to accept a 3.3V wire from the PSU. Hope he will share his mod soon.

Looks like Elbox are now offering a Mediator PCI 4000 Di 3V for cards which require 3.3V power.

Indeed, that seems to be the case. No one tested it with Sonnet yet though.

Also, Merry Xmas from SonnetAmiga team:

This must be one of the most convoluted ways to play Quake 1.

Bravo to your hacking spirit ;-)

In other words, you basically succeeded where elbox failed: you designed the shark. Great job!

I like how elbox couldnt do it and this guys just like I had a sonnet laying around and ........
Will this work with A1200 mediator?
iirc at one point these were peanuts like £20 - sonnets not mediators.

Hedeon is working on this. Currently, it sort of works, but crashes often. Stability is still very bad compared to big box Mediator models.

Also, one would need Mediator 1200TX, no other model is supported.

Oh I see what's going on... YouTube copyright claim in Germany . Blame UMG. Just because of the song that Hedeon played in AmigaAMP to show off that's it working.
